Who is responsible
This policy covers wcc2008.org. Questions about it, and any request concerning your data, go to [email protected].
What the site collects by itself
The pages of this site are static files. Reading them does not require an account, and we do not ask a reader to identify themselves in order to read a finding. Our hosting provider records ordinary technical information when a page is requested, including the IP address making the request, the time, the address requested and the browser's user agent string. That information exists to serve pages and to keep the service secure, and it is retained only as long as it is useful for those purposes.
We do not build reader profiles, we do not sell data, and we do not use trackers to follow a reader across other websites.
Forms and the third party that runs them
Some pages carry a link or a button that opens a registration form operated by a third party. Anything typed into that form is collected and processed by the operator of the form under its own privacy terms, not by us. If you complete it, you are providing your details to that operator and to whichever platform it passes them to.
We cannot answer for what happens to data after it leaves this site through that form. Before entering contact details anywhere, read the privacy terms shown with the form, and remember that a service which does not tell you which company is collecting your details is also not telling you who will hold them.
Email you send us
If you write to the editorial address, we hold the message and its contents so that we can reply, check a correction and keep a record of what changed in a file and why. Messages about corrections may be kept indefinitely, because the record of a correction is part of the published history of a page. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list.
Cookies and analytics
The site does not set advertising cookies. If a measurement tool is added in future, this page will be updated before it goes live and will name what is set and why. Third party embeds and the registration form may set their own cookies under their own terms, which is a further reason to read those terms before using them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to processing, or to receive a copy. Write to the address above and we will respond within the period required by the law that applies to you. If you are unsatisfied with the response, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Where the data you are asking about was entered into the third party form, we will tell you so and point you to the operator, because we cannot access or delete records held by someone else.
Changes
If this policy changes, the modified date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described in the text rather than made silently.
